“In a hundred ages of the gods, I could not tell thee the glories of the Himalaya… there is no mountain like the Himalaya for in it are Kailash and Mansarovar”. -Ramayana
The pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar has always been one of the most appealing and spiritually enthralling to more than half-a-billion people in India, Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and lands of far away, exciting the imaginations of many. Hidden behind the Himalayas, Kailash stands out above all others with its opulent setting and grandeur appearance, retaining its isolated splendor when viewed from a distance.
Revered as an important pilgrimage destination, a trip to Mount Kailash is said to transform oneself and leave an undeniable mark with feelings of exhilaration and strong divinity. It is concurred that those pilgrims who are willing to complete a circumambulation of Mount Kailash will achieve salvation and those who aspire to bathe in the sacred Lake Mansarovar will relinquish their minds of the sins that impend to condemn them to the suffering of rebirth.
