Trip Overview

Situated along the Western foothills of the Himalayas, Annapurna is a Sanskrit word which means “Goddess of the harvests”. The massif has sacred connotations to Hindus living in Nepal and the adjoining areas. The Short Annapurna base Camp Trek offers tourists the opportunity to experience both high mountains and low land villages. Moreover, people belonging to the various ethnic groups inhabit the area. The region is home to people belonging to the Gurung, Magar and Thakali groups. Tourists can get a sneak into their life and unique culture.

The trek offers majestic views of snow capped mountains and beautiful green fields. The path to the Instant Annapurna Base Camp Trek is lined with beautiful Rhododendron forests. As the trek is not very strenuous, anyone who wishes to experience the beautiful Annapurna massif can go on the trek. Many endangered animals such as blue sheep, snow leopards, tigers and Himalayan thar live in this region. In addition, different species of birds including multi colored Impheyan, koklas and blood pheasants reside in the Annapurna region.

Outline Itinerary

Day – 1 Reaching Kathmandu (1300 m. / 4290 ft.) Stay in Hotel Royal Singi
Day – 2 Half-day sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath & Bodhnath.  Last minute briefing of the trek and completing formalities, Final preparations for the trek. Stay in Hotel Royal Singi
Day – 3 Kathmandu – Pokhara (850 m. / 2789 ft.) by road travel. 200 Kms. Around 6 hours of drive. Overnight stay in Hotel at Pokhara.
Day – 4 Pokhara to Damphus. Pokhara to Phedi (1130 m. / 3707 ft.) About 1 to 1 ½ hours drive. Phedi to Damphus (1650 m. / 5413 ft.) Around 4 to 4 ½ hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 5 Damphus to Landruk (1550 m. / 5085 ft.) Around 5 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 6 Landruk to Chomrong (2050 m. / 6726 ft.) Around 6 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 7 Chomrong to Bamboo (2400 m. / 8530 ft.) Around 5 to 5 ½ hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 8 Bamboo to Deurali (3200 m. / 10,499 ft.) Around 6 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 9 Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp / ABC (4130 m. / 13,550 ft.) Around 5 ½  to 6 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 10 Rest at ABC to have good views of the Annapurna range. Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 11 ABC to Dovan (2600 m. / 8530 ft.) Around 5 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 12 Dovan to Chomrong. Around 5 hours of walk Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 13 Chomrong to Ghandruk (1939 m. / 6362 ft.) Around 5 hours of walking. Overnight stay in Guest House.
Day – 14 Ghandruk to Naya Pul via Birethanti (1050 m. / 3497 ft.). Around 4 hours of walking. Then drive to Pokhara. Around 2 hours of drive. Overnight stay in Hotel White Pearl
Day – 15 Pokhara to Kathmandu. Drive by vehicle for about 6 hours. Stay in Hotel Royal Singi
Day – 16 Transfer to the airport your onward journey
