Richa Tours introduces the Kailash Mansarovar Tour Via Kerung; an affordable overland trip that takes you along the terrains of Kailash Mansarovar that is now accessible with modern road system and transportation facilities. Every year, Richa Tours cater to thousands of Hindu pilgrims and travelers alike to a lifetime journey of exploring Mt. Kailash and the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Our aim is to encourage all our Yatris to complete the 2 days parikarma around Mt. Kailash, circling the holy mountain and taking a ritual bath to clean all our past mortal sins and pave the path to heaven.

FOREIGN PASSPORT HOLDERS OTHER THAN INDIAN NATIONALS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN MAINLAND CHINA L VISA FROM THEIR HOME COUNTRY.

BOOKING CONDITION:

  • As per CHINA INDIA PILGRIMAGE SERVICE  CENTER POLICY, a Single Permit for each Group shall be issued. Therefore complete naming list of the Group should be sent along with a clear passport copy, minimum 8 weeks prior to the Groups entry date.
  • The Original Passport should be valid for minimum 6 months from the date of travel.
  • Original Passport should be made available to us in New Delhi for Group visa application. Passport should reach us 2 weeks prior to the Groups travel date.

PAYMENT POLICY:

  • A booking fee of Inrs.10, 000 per person at the time of sending the Group Naming List
  • 50 % of the Tour Payment, 4 weeks prior to Group travel Date
  • Balance Amount to be paid minimum 2 weeks prior to the Groups arrival to Nepal

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Once the Group-naming list has been submitted, there will be a cancellation fee of USD200 per person for any cancellation.
  • 25% Cancellation Fee for any cancellation, 4 weeks prior to date of travel.
  • 35% Cancellation Fee for any cancellation, 3 weeks prior to date of travel.
  • 50% Cancellation Fee for any cancellation, 2 weeks prior to date of travel.
  • 100% Cancellation Fee for any cancellation, 1 week prior to date of travel.

 

 

 

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Kathmandu (1300m). Group shall be met at the airport and transfer provided to Hotel.
Accommodation: Hotel Royal Singhi (4 Star ) Or Similar

Day 02: Darshan of Pashupatinath Temple, Guhyeshwari Temple, & Sleeping Vishnu at Budhanilkantha. The day is free for final preparation of the yatra and pre-departure briefing.

Day 03: After breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Timure by Bus.(140 kms , 8-9hrs).
Accommodation: Over Night at Hotel in Timure

Day 04: Early morning cross over to China border. Drive to  Kerung. (3750m, 32kms,  1 ½ hrs).
Accommodation: Hotel at Kerung

Day 05: Drive to SAGA. (4600m / 180 Kms, 6-7 Hrs).
Accommodation: Hotel at Saga

Day 06: Spend the day at Saga for acclimatization.
Accommodation: Hotel at Saga

Day 07: Drive to Lake Manasarovar (4600m) with the Parikrama of theLake (478km/ 9hrs).
Accommodation: Parmath Ashram Or Similar

Day 08: AM Stay at Lake Manasarovar for Puja. PM Drive to Darchen. (4670m /40km, 1 ½ hrs).
Accommodation: Kailash Himalaya Hotel Or Similar

Day 09: Drive to Yam Dwar , Trek starting point for Kailash Kora.Trek to Dirapuk. (4860m/15 Kms, / 6-7 Hrs).
Accommodation: Hotel at Dirapuk

Day 10: Trek to Zhuthulpuk. (4760m /18 Kms, 10-12 Hrs).
Accommodation: Hotel at Zhuthulpuk

Day 11: End Kailash Kora. Drive to Saga (4600m).
Accommodation: Hotel at saga

Day 12: Drive to Kerung (3750m) and spend the night at the border.
Accommodation: Hotel at Kerung

Day 13: Cross over to Nepal side. Continue your journey to Kathmandu by Bus.
Accommodation: Hotel Royal Singi (4 Star) Or Similar

Day 14: The day is free until your transfer to the airport for your final journey back home.

Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where our representative will warmly welcome you. Transfer to Hotel Royal Singhi (4-star) or similar. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a bustling city with a rich blend of history, culture and spirituality. If time permits, take a short walk in Thamel, the vibrant tourist hub, with its souvenir shops, local handicrafts and cafés. Evening is at leisure to rest and acclimatize, prepare your luggage for the yatra, and enjoy your first taste of Nepali cuisine. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Pre-Yatra Briefing

After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing in Kathmandu. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, one of the oldest and holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated along the sacred Bagmati River. Witness the ritual ceremonies performed by devotees on the riverbanks. Next, visit Guhyeshwari Temple, an important center for tantric worship dedicated to Goddess Shakti. Continue to Budhanilkantha, famous for the enormous Sleeping Vishnu statue, carved from a single black stone, reclining on the cosmic serpent Ananta Shesha. After returning to the hotel for lunch, attend the pre-departure briefing, covering high-altitude safety, necessary gear, and travel preparations for the Yatra.

Optional: Take an early morning mountain flight for breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, offering unforgettable photo opportunities.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Timure (140 km / 8–9 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Timure, a small town near the Nepal-Tibet border. The route takes you through terraced hills, rushing rivers, and traditional Nepali villages, offering your first glimpse of the Himalayan foothills. The drive can be long and tiring due to road conditions, so take time to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and interact with locals in roadside settlements. On arrival at Timure, check into your hotel for an overnight stay and rest before the border crossing.

Day 04: Timure to Kerung (32 km / 1.5 hrs, 3,750 m)

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive to Timure, located near the Nepal-China border. The road passes through terraced farmlands, green valleys, traditional villages and flowing rivers. Stop at Dhunche and Trisuli River for refreshments and photos. En route, enjoy panoramic views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges. Timure is a quiet, high-altitude town where travelers can start feeling the Himalayan plateau’s atmosphere. Overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Kerung

Day 05: Kerung to Saga (180 km / 6–7 hrs, 4,600 m)

After breakfast, drive towards Saga, passing through vast grasslands, high passes and Tibetan villages. On the way, you will begin to see the mighty Brahmaputra River (Yarlung Tsangpo) flowing parallel to the road. The river is considered one of the holiest rivers in Tibet, originating from Mount Kailash region and later entering India as Brahmaputra. Enjoy scenic stops along the riverbank, where its wide turquoise waters, dramatic cliffs and open valleys create a mesmerizing landscape.

Day 06: Acclimatization Day at Saga (4,600 m)

Today is a full day dedicated to rest and acclimatization at high altitude. You may take gentle walks around Saga and enjoy the serene views of the Brahmaputra River, which flows close to the town. This river, known in Tibet as Yarlung Tsangpo, nourishes the plateau and is deeply revered by pilgrims travelling towards Kailash and Manasarovar. Its peaceful flow and broad valleys offer an ideal setting for relaxed acclimatization. The day will help your body adjust to the altitude, ensuring a comfortable journey ahead.

Day 07: Saga to Lake Manasarovar (478 km / 9 hrs, 4,600 m)

After breakfast, drive to the sacred Lake Manasarovar. Stop at Mayumla Pass (4,800 m) for customs formalities, enjoy a packed lunch, and continue through Paryang County. Upon arrival, witness your first view of Mount Kailash reflected in the turquoise waters of Lake Manasarovar. Complete approximately 75% of the lake’s Parikrama. Visit Chiu Gompa Monastery if time permits. Overnight stay at Parmarth Ashram or similar accommodation.

Day 08: Lake Manasarovar Puja and Drive to Darchen (40 km / 1.5 hrs, 4,670 m)

Wake up early for a holy dip and Puja on the lake’s banks, believed to cleanse body and soul. After rituals, drive to Darchen, the base camp for the Kailash Kora. En route, enjoy views of Lake Rakshastal and surrounding Tibetan landscapes. Check into Kailash Himalaya Hotel or similar.

Day 09: Yam Dwar to Dirapuk Trek (15 km / 6–7 hrs, 4,860 m)

Drive 7 km to Yam Dwar, the ceremonial starting point of the Kailash Kora Trek. Begin trekking toward Dirapuk, passing prayer flags, shrines and open highland plains. Witness stunning views of the North Face of Mount Kailash and experience the spiritual ambiance of this sacred pilgrimage. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dirapuk.

Day 10: Dirapuk to Zhuthulpuk via Dolma La Pass (18 km / 10–12 hrs, 4,760 m)

Begin early for the most challenging day of the Kora. Cross the Dolma La Pass (5,630 m), the highest point of the trek, representing spiritual purification. Descend past Gauri Kund, a sacred lake associated with Goddess Parvati. Arrive at Zhuthulpuk, check into a guesthouse and rest after the physically demanding trek.

Day 11: Complete Kailash Kora and Drive to Saga (4,600 m)

Finish the Kora trek from Zhuthulpuk to Darchen, then board your vehicle for the drive back to Saga. Along the way, enjoy the serene Brahmaputra River, high plateau vistas and views of Tibetan villages. Take in the sense of achievement and spiritual fulfillment after completing the sacred circumambulation. Overnight stay at Saga hotel.

Day 12: Saga to Kerung (3,750 m / 6–7 hrs)

After breakfast, drive from Saga to Kerung, enjoying Tibetan landscapes, high plains and the flowing Brahmaputra River. Observe Tibetan herders, monasteries and nomadic life along the route. Overnight stay at Kerung hotel.

Day 13: Kerung to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi (270 km / 8–10 hrs)

Cross the Nepal border at Rasuwagadhi, complete customs formalities and continue the scenic drive to Kathmandu. Enjoy terraced hills, forests, rivers and traditional villages along the route. Arrive in Kathmandu in the evening, check into Hotel Royal Singhi (4-star) or similar and relax.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu (1,300 m)

After breakfast, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping, or exploring Kathmandu’s bustling streets. Later, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey, carrying memories of Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, Brahmaputra River, Tibetan plateau and a spiritually transformative pilgrimage.
