Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Kathmandu. Group shall be met at the airport and transfer provided to Hotel.

Day 02: Visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Guhyeshwari Temple and Boudhnath Stupa. Final preparation for your Kailash Yatra.

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu – Lhasa by Himalayan Airlines. The Group shall be welcomed at Gonggar Airport and transfer provided to Lhasa city. Visit Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar after Lunch.

Day 04: Visit the famous Potala Palace and Sera Monastery.

Day 05: Early morning drive to Lhasa domestic terminal for your flight to Ali. Drive to Darchen.

Day 06: Drive to Lake Manasarovar for Parikrama of the Lake. Stop at Trugu Monastery for Puja and holy bath near the banks of the lake. Proceed to Darchen for overnight.

Day 07: Drive to Yam Dwar, the starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Trek to Dirapuk.

Day 08: Trek to Zhuthulpuk.

Day 09: End Kailash Parikrama. Drive to Darchen.

Day 10: Early morning drive to Ali Gunsa Airport for your return flight to Lhasa. The day is free for individual exploration of Lhasa city and shopping.

Day 11: Fly Lhasa – Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel.

Day 12: The day is free until your transfer to the airport for onward departure.

Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where our representative will warmly welcome you. Transfer to Hyatt Centric or Hotel Marriott. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a bustling city with a rich blend of history, culture, and spirituality. If time permits, take a short walk in Thamel, the vibrant tourist hub, with its souvenir shops, local handicrafts, and cafés. Evening is at leisure to rest and acclimatize, prepare your luggage for the yatra, and enjoy your first taste of Nepali cuisine. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Pre-Yatra Briefing

After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing in Kathmandu. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, one of the oldest and holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated along the sacred Bagmati River. Witness the ritual ceremonies performed by devotees on the riverbanks. Next, visit Guhyeshwari Temple, an important center for tantric worship dedicated to Goddess Shakti. Continue to Budhanilkantha, famous for the enormous Sleeping Vishnu statue, carved from a single black stone, reclining on the cosmic serpent Ananta Shesha. After returning to the hotel for lunch, attend the pre-departure briefing, covering high-altitude safety, necessary gear, and travel preparations for the Yatra. Overnight at Hyatt Centric or Hotel Marriott.

Day 03: Fly to Lhasa – Visit Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar.

At 6:00 AM, drive to Tribhuvan International Airport for your Himalayan Airlines flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport (3,570m), meet the Tibetan team and transfer to Lhasa City (1.5 hours’ drive) and check in at St. Regis, Lhasa for rest and acclimatization. After lunch, begin your sightseeing program around 2:00 PM with a visit to the sacred Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibet, followed by a walking tour around Barkhor Bazaar, the vibrant traditional market area and pilgrim kora route. Sightseeing concludes around 5:00 PM, after which you return to the hotel for rest and overnight at St. Regis, Lhasa.

Day 04: Visit Potala Palace & Sera Monastery.

After breakfast, begin your morning sightseeing at 9:00 AM with a guided visit to the iconic Potala Palace (3,700m), exploring its ancient chapels, murals, and historical chambers (approx. 2–3 hours). After lunch, proceed to Sera Monastery around 2:00 PM, one of Tibet’s major monastic institutions, where you will explore its courtyards, prayer halls, and academic sections. Return to the hotel around 5:30 PM for rest and overnight stay at St. Regis, Lhasa

Day 05: Lhasa → Ngari (Ali) → Drive to Darchen. (4590m)

Early morning, transfer to Lhasa domestic terminal for your flight to Ngari (Ali) (Flight: ~1.5–2 hrs). Upon arrival at Ngari Gunsa Airport, embark on a scenic drive to Darchen (250 km / 4–5 hrs). Enjoy stunning views of the Tibetan plateau, rivers, and small villages enroute. Upon arrival, check in at Himalaya Hotel. Witness the majestic reflection of Mount Kailash. Overnight at Himalaya Hotel.

Day 06: Drive to Lake Manasarovar for Parikrama of the Lake. Procced to Darchen (4590m)

After breakfast, drive to the sacred Lake Manasarovar. Upon arrival, undertake the parikrama of the lake by vehicle, stopping at designated points for prayers and spiritual reflection. Visit Trugu (Chiu) Monastery to perform puja, rituals, and meditation in the holy environment. Pilgrims may take a holy bath near the banks of Lake Manasarovar and collect sacred water for religious purposes, subject to local regulations and weather conditions. After completing all spiritual activities, proceed by road to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash. Upon arrival, check in to the Himalaya Hotel for dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the upcoming Kailash parikrama.

Day 07: Yam Dwar to Dirapuk Trek (15 km / 6–7 hrs, 4,860 m)

Drive 7 km to Yam Dwar, the ceremonial starting point of the Kailash Kora Trek. Begin trekking toward Dirapuk, passing prayer flags, shrines, and open highland plains. Witness stunning views of the North Face of Mount Kailash and experience the spiritual ambiance of this sacred pilgrimage. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dirapuk. Optional visit to Charan Sparsh, a 6 km trek, can be arranged with your guide.

Day 08: Dirapuk to Zhuthulpuk via Dolma La Pass (18 km / 10–12 hrs, 4,760 m)

Begin early for the most challenging day of the Kora. Cross the Dolma La Pass (5,630 m), the highest point of the trek, representing spiritual purification. Descend past Gauri Kund, a sacred lake associated with Goddess Parvati. Arrive at Zhuthulpuk, check into a guesthouse, and rest after the physically demanding trek.

Day 09: Complete Kailash Kora and Drive to Darchen (4590m)

Finish the Kora trek from Zhuthulpuk to Darchen. Board your vehicle for the drive back to Darchen. Along the way, enjoy high plateau vistas, and views of Tibetan villages. Take in the sense of achievement and spiritual fulfillment after completing the sacred circumambulation. Overnight stay at Darchen.

Day 10: Darchen → Ngari (Ali) → Fly to Lhasa (4274 M – 3650 m)

Early morning drive to Ngari Gunsa Airport (Distance: 200 km / 4–5 hrs) and board your return flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Lhasa (Airport to hotel: 60 km / 1 hr 15 min). The afternoon is free for relaxation, light shopping, or exploring the local streets. Overnight stay at St. Regis, Lhasa. Spend a rest day in Lhasa for optional sightseeing or personal exploration. You may visit local markets, monasteries, or enjoy a leisurely walk in the city. This day allows time to rest and reflect on the spiritual journey.

Day 11: Fly Lhasa → Kathmandu – Free Day for Shopping & Relaxation

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu via Himalayan Airlines. Upon arrival, check in at Hyatt Centric or Hotel Marriott. The rest of the day is free for shopping, spa treatments, or relaxation. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu (1,300 m)

After breakfast, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping, or exploring Kathmandu’s bustling streets. Later, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey, carrying memories of Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, Brahmaputra River, Tibetan plateau and a spiritually transformative pilgrimage.
