Trip Overview

Nepal, the home to eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, is rich in spectacular mountains vistas and scenic diversity. Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo-Ri and crossing over the Cho-la pass makes you experience the magnificent Everest area. It is famed not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures, colorful festivals and Buddhist monasteries. Further, the legend of Yeti, believed to be living in the Khumbu region, adds a mysterious characteristic to the trekking experience.

Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo/ Cross Cho-La trek offers you the tour to the grandeur-famed Khumbu area. After a few days of sightseeing in Kathmandu valley, this demanding trek through Gokyo Lake and over the Cho-La Pass (5420m), leads into the Khumbu valley above Lobuche up to the majestic viewpoint of Kalapathar and back to Lukla via Tengboche and Namche Bazar. This strenuous trekking is rewarded with spectacular Himalayan scenes, including four of the world’s eight highest peaks: Cho-Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8485m), Lhotse (8516m) and Mt. Everest (8848m). Breathtaking mountain vistas are complemented by visits to Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries that offer you an insight into the quiet yet vibrant Sherpa culture.

The itinerary given is a suggested outline for the trek, which covers the highlights of the Khumbu and other popular places. Details may vary as per the personal taste and time schedule of each client. The schedule caters teahouse trekking, expedition style trekking where porters carry your tent and food, or a combination of both. We offer trekking experiences with proper attention to the acclimatization of trekkers.

Caution: Following a proper acclimatization process is crucial. In a high altitude trek that requires considerable sleeping time, lack of attention to this aspect can lead to dire consequences.
